Job Description:

  • The Director of Sales will develop and execute strategic sales plans for all revenue generating areas of the hotel through direct sales, marketing, e-commerce channels, public relations and community partnership, reporting directly to the Hotel General Manager and being part of the Executive Committee in the hotel. The DOS is responsible for setting directions on managing the energetic and young S&M team and oversees the successful execution of strategic and tactical plans for sales and marketing. 


Essential Job functions:

  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established company targets and hotel standards. 
  • Supports the Hotel General Manager in all related sales activities.
  • Strong personality and leadership, able to work under pressure.
  • Manage the property´s reactive and proactive sales efforts with the focus and major efforts on selling the All Inclusive packages.
  • Strong leadership to manage and guide Reservations, MICE, Corporate and Market Sales Managers and Administrative staff.
  • Strong knowledge about online sales and e-commerce. Set up sales strategies together with DOS Ecommerce.
  • Prepare and maintain a Numeric Yearly Revenue Marketing plan with measurable Revpar and TrevPar,  and  specific written initiatives detailed to grow each business segment markets (Business Plan). 
  • Set up yearly sales targets by markets and monitor achievements of objectives of Sales team and take appropriate action to correct shortfalls vs. the Yearly Marketing Plan.
  • Achieve Annual Hotel Revenue goals as agreed upon and established in the Annual Marketing Plan.
  • Maintain and strength hotel relationship with local and overseas key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account revenue. Serves as hotel authority on sales processes and sales contracts.
  • Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customers (internal and external) requirements.
  • Meet with key clients, assist sales representatives maintaining good relations and support and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Travel locally to conduct Sales calls, promote the hotel and review the Competitors hotels.
  • Attend International Trade Shows and Missions to represent the hotel and the company as per yearly Travel & Exhibition Plan.
  • Search potential new markets and complete marketing plan to develop and gain market share. Overseas and evaluates market search and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Strong knowledge related to specific characteristic/behavior of Japan, Korea, European, Domestic, Australia, China, etc markets, for both contracting with local/overseas agents and individuals customers.
  • Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities and propose reactive action plans.
  • Prepares and leads weekly sales meetings with team members and management.
  • Coordinates activities with other Operational Departments providing always excellent customer service to the high end.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, forecasts, and proposed client base expansion.

Job Requirements:

  • Only Indonesian citizens will be considered.
  • Min 4 years of Bachelor´s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major.
  • Min 5 years of experience working in a Hotel Sales Department and 2 years holding similar DOS or ADOS position in 4 or 5 stars hotel with 150+ rooms.
  • Proficiency in English language and a second language is desired.
  • Excellent communication oral and written skills.
  • A successful track record of sales and marketing and team development.
  • Proficient in use of Excel, Word and access database tool. VHP user is desired.
  • Demonstrated skills managing and leading teams.
  • Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
  • References will be requested.
